Dual verification for digital door locks offers an extra layer of security by requiring two separate methods of authentication before granting access. Philips EasyKey, for instance, offers both a general mode and a double verification mode. This advanced feature enhances the security of homes and businesses, providing peace of mind to users. By combining different verification methods such as fingerprint scanning, PIN codes, RFID cards or facial recognition, dual verification ensures that only authorized individuals can enter. This innovative approach significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access and enhances overall security measures.
How to enable the double verification mode?
Method 1: Set on the door lock side
Wake up the front escutcheon — Click [#] — Enter the master code — Enter [#] — Click [4] to enter the system setting — Click [3] — Click [2] to turn on the dual verification mode.
After the smart door lock voice prompts successful setting, enter [*] to go back to the previous menu and exit the master mode.
Method 2: Set on Philips EasyKey APP
Open the Philips EasyKey app — Click the [Setting] pattern — Find the [Dual verification mode] — Turn on the mode.
Can we unlock the door on the APP under the dual verification mode?
By using dual verification mode, the digital door lock has to be unlocked through fingerprint scanning, PIN codes, RFID cards, or facial recognition. However, the digital door lock cannot be locked or unlocked through Philips EasyKey app.
Once the dual verification mode is activated, we cannot access the digital door lock through bluetooth or Wifi on the mobile app. Also, 30 minutes temporary PIN codes cannot be used based on security effects of this mode.
Furthermore, Philips EasyKey provides various security features, including outside forced lock, multiple alarms, and hidden PIN code, which can be utilized alongside the dual verification mode. These additional security measures are particularly beneficial, especially when leaving home unattended for extended periods, such as during trips.
Philips Easykey fire-rated locks* are certified to withstand 60-minutes of fire with mechanical fail-safe feature (so that you can still unlock the digital door lock to leave the house, even if the battery dies).
